Bright Suns, Christopher and welcome to planDisney!
One might say that the allure of a double-bladed lightsaber has enthralled Force-sensitive folks across the galaxy since the legendary tales of Darth Maul and his adept wielding of an iconic weapon that was double the amount of danger to his opponents. This year Black Spire Outpost was definitely buzzing with not only the arrival of the Mandalorians Din Djarin and Grogu - but also with the opportunity to snag a coupler, or connector piece that could attach two lightsaber hilts together. As I was also intrigued by the
release of the Cal Kestis Legacy Lightsaber, I ventured off to
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in order to see whether I could find a coupler myself to get in on the double-bladed action.
I had heard among the citizens of Batuu that it was possible to locate so-called
Lightsaber Hilt Coupler Connector Scrap that had been collected by
the Gatherers at Savi’s Workshop; however upon my arrival there were none left available. They pointed me in the direction of
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities nearby, but there I was informed that their previously healthy supply had been swiftly sold out, and they were awaiting another incoming shipment from off-planet. So while there may be two different locations where these could possibly be acquired, it appears that they continue to be popular enough for supply to be short and I hope that they will be available again soon by the time you’re able to make the journey!
I have also noticed all forms of scoundrels, smugglers and even amateur lightsaber builders alike being resourceful and finding methods to connect their own blades, and I often find them wandering about Black Spire Outpost after the three suns of Batuu have set. It may be worth snagging a late reservation to
Oga’s Cantina and emerge in time to witness the flash of lightsabers illuminating the night to see whether one can impart their wisdom on where they’ve been able to procure their couplers. In the meantime, I’ll continue to keep an eye on when I’ll be able to purchase this useful bit of scrap for myself!
Hope this helps, Christopher - don’t hesitate to
