I saw that dock side fishing was available but didn't see if it is available at Fort Wilderness Cabins. We are trying to decide where to stay at the Cabins or a different resort. Thanks!

    Hi Melissa!

The Fort Wilderness Cabins and the Resort is a very special place to stay during your Walt Disney World vacation. It is unique to all other resorts on property and the cabins have all been recently refurbished and improved and are now more comfortable then ever. It is nice to have your own place and not share walls with any other room. With the full kitchens you can also enjoy cutting back on the food that you need to buy in the parks and at the restaurants. You can get grocery delivery so you can pack the refrigerator and cupboards with just the things your family enjoys.

The recreation opportunities abound at this resort. You can choose from horseback riding, Segway tours, archery lessons, swimming, boating, Chip n Dale's Campfire Singalong, movies under the stars, canoeing, biking, and yes fishing. You can rent your equipment or bring your own. It is strictly catch and release throughout all of the Disney property. There is a large fishing dock located just outside of the Trading Post and there are also small inlet waterways that I have seen fishermen using. There will be signs posted if it is an area that does not allow guests to fish.

It is hard to make a final decision on a resort choice for your stay. They are all so wonderful and unique in their own way. I think that is sometimes what brings guests back again and again as they need to try new resorts out each time! Enjoy!
