I saw that on the 29th they have a Disney after dark event. Do I only need that ticket to attend? What do they mean by mix-in hours?

    Hello Hilary!

I’m glad you brought your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! If you love the 80s as much as I do, then the Disneyland After Dark: 80s Nite is not one to miss!

On January 29th, 2020, Disneyland Park will host a separately ticketed after hours event filled with special photo ops, music, movies, food, fashion and fads from the 80's! I can’t wait to see what they come up with for their 80's inspired menus throughout the park! All you need is a special event ticket that can be purchased online up to the day before the event or while supplies last. The party begins at 9:00 pm but you will be allowed to enter the park starting at 6:00 pm with your special event ticket. Because normal operating hours run until 8:00 pm that day, there will be guests not attending Disneyland After Dark: 80s Nite until then. Those few hours from when you are allowed to enter the park and the event actually begins is what they refer to as mix-in-hours.

If you decide to attend the event, don’t forget to dress to impress in your 80's best! I’m talking leg warmers, shoulder pads, spandex, jean jackets, big hair, and acid wash jeans. Bring on the neon! Don’t forget to follow the costume guidelines while your putting your outfit together. Unlimited downloads of all your rad Disney PhotoPass photos are included as well as a commemorative credential and guide map. There will be a live band and DJ so make sure you bring your best dance moves! Make sure to hit all the open attractions for the event, which usually have a shorter wait time than normal.

Well Hilary, come back and let us know how the 80's are doing. I hope they’re just as bodacious and tubular as we left them!

Remember, always believe in the magic!
