Hi Kathy,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for coming to us with your question. When my family goes camping, we look like the moment in Frozen when Anna leaves Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, loaded down with all the gear and supplies (hello, s’mores) we need…and when we leave Walt Disney World, we look the same, only loaded down with souvenirs! I love that you’re thinking proactively about how to pack light and make life easy so you can just enjoy the peaceful setting at
The Campgrounds at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.
I wanted to get you the most up-to-date information, Kathy, so I reached out to a fantastic Cast Member, who gave me these details:
Tent rentals are available in limited quantities. For individual tent rentals, 24-hour notice is required; for groups, 5-day notice is required. Tents are 9’ by 13’ and accommodate eight adults without cots. Please note that no pets are allowed in the tents. Tents cost $40 per night plus tax to rent.
Cot rentals are also available in limited quantities and the required notice is the same as for tents. Cots are standard Army cots and cost $5 per night plus tax to rent.
Please call (407) 939-7807 and press option 4 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday for information and to request a reservation.
My fellow Panelist Leslie has some
great advice on what to pack to be sure you’ll be a happy camper during your campsite stay, Kathy. I have only one thing to add: be sure to make a stop at Trail's End Restaurant or P & J's Southern Takeout for some truly divine strawberry shortcake.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
