Hi Carol!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm happy to be your planEAR today! It sounds like you're a gal after my own heart in that you also like keeping up with the latest theme park news. In addition to liking and following the
Disney Parks Blog across all of your social media channels, planDisney is now on instagram! We're sharing all kinds of terrific tips, foodies finds, room reviews, showing shows, assessing attractions, as so, so much more! Find us at planDisneyPanel, and stop by our twitter too where we're at planDisney.
I'm happy to share that yes, guests at
Disneyland Resort are now able to add a Disney Gift Card when placing a
Mobile Food Order! To do this you'll go through all of the steps of selecting a
location of where you'd like to dine and when, go through the menu, and then once you get to the summary screen, that's where you'll select 'Method of Payment' and add your gift card. Unlike non-Disney establishments that have mobile ordering,
Disney Gift Cards are, at this time, unable to be stored permanently and/or as a preferred method of payment. You will have to both remember to select the gift card to use it as well as enter your gift card number for each transaction prior to hitting the final submit. If not the purchase will go to your main credit card on file. Do note that only one gift card can be used per transaction, with any balance differences then going to the main card on file.
Have you also heard about
Merchandise Mobile Checkout? This is pretty similar, except instead of food it's souvenEARs! Lastly, and what I think is also a great option, is
Disney e-Gift Cards which can be saved to and pulled up from your email account on your smartphone whenever you're ready to use it. And best of all they can be scanned and used anywhere a regular gift card can!
I hope this helped to plan your upcoming Disney days, Carol, and We'll See You Real Soon!
