Bright suns, Kaylee! Thanks for stopping by planDisney on your way to the planet Batuu.
It sounds like you are getting ready to live your very own Star Wars adventure at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Of course, no journey to a galaxy far, far away would be complete without constructing your own lightsaber just like the Jedi who came before you. While we must keep this information quiet to avoid being discovered by the First Order, I can share with you that the Gatherers at
Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers will soon be inviting travelers to create their own custom lightsabers once again.
Last winter, I had the opportunity to visit Savi's Workshop with my young Padawans. I highly recommend this experience to any Star Wars fan who plans to visit
Disney's Hollywood Studios! Our lightsabers are treasured souvenirs from our visit to Black Spire Outpost, and our experience at Savi's Workshop was incredibly moving and memorable for our Star Wars-obsessed family.
The lightsaber building experience at Savi's Workshop was temporarily unavailable when Walt Disney World Resort first began its
phased reopening process. However, it was recently announced that the Gatherers at Savi's Workshop would resume operations on September 20, 2020. Reservations for Savi's Workshop became available for booking yesterday. Currently, reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance on the
Walt Disney World website or using the
My Disney Experience mobile app.
When I made my Savi's Workshop reservations, I was able to do so at 6:00 a.m. EST on the day that my reservation booking window opened. This is a popular experience, so I recommend trying for your reservations early in the morning, 60 days in advance of your desired date. Of course, procedures for booking reservations are always subject to change, so be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for all of the latest news.
As you get ready to travel to Batuu, be sure to take a look at these
tips for visiting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and check out
the adventure that some of my fellow panelists had when they took the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy for a spin. If you have any other questions, hop in the
Millennium Falcon, make the jump to light speed, and set a course for planDisney.
May the Force be with you!
