Bright suns, Rocky! Thanks for stopping by planDisney on your way to the planet Batuu!
My husband and I are lifelong Star Wars fans, and I'm proud to say that the Force is also strong with our children. Being able to live out our own Star Wars adventure at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge was a dream come true for us. From piloting the
Millennium Falcon to enjoying a drink at
Oga's Cantina, this land is full of immersive experiences that make you feel as if you truly have traveled to a galaxy far, far away. In my opinion, one of the most special experiences that a Star Wars fan can have is constructing their own lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop.
Like you, I also have a son with autism, so I completely understand your need to figure out the logistics of your lightsaber-building experience in advance. My family and I visited Savi's Workshop a couple of years ago for my children to build lightsabers. There is enough room at each building station for the builder's guest to remain by their side or to stand right behind them. During my family's visit, my husband was able to stand next to my son and help him to construct his lightsaber, so I think this experience will work well for you and your young padawan. I found my visit to Savi's Workshop to be incredibly moving and meaningful, and I hope that you'll feel the same way about your experience.
As you get ready for your visit to
Disneyland Resort, be sure to read up on the
services that are available for guests with cognitive disabilities. I hope that this information will help you and your son to have an enjoyable visit and make memories that will last a lifetime. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
May the Force be with you!
Samantha
