I am saving up for a WDW vacation for seven people and will be staying at the Shades of Green military resort. Any cheap dining suggestions, either at the hotel or the park? Please write back soon. By the way, you guys are awesome!

Hi, Wes!  Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for the lovely compliment.  We think helping guests plan magical vacations is awesome!

You're going to love staying at Shades of Green!  Many of our military families from the Disney Parks Moms Panel call Shades of Green their home away from home when they vacation at Walt Disney World Resort, and they find this beautiful resort to be conveniently located and an excellent value.  I think you'll find that Shades of Green offers a variety of dining options to fit any taste and budget.  Express Cafe is a great spot to grab a quick bite as you head off to the theme parks.

Speaking of the theme parks, there are so many amazing restaurants in the parks that you can head to when you're feeling a little rumbly in your tumbly.  The quick-service dining locations in the theme parks are great for guests who need to save time or stick to a budget.  Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe and Columbia Harbour House are two of my favorite quick-service restaurants at Magic Kingdom Park.  Over at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Satu'li Canteen and Flame Tree Barbecue are great places to grab a bite to eat.  When you visit Disney's Hollywood Studios, I recommend dining at Woody's Lunch Box or Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.  At EPCOT, you'll love snacking your way around the world at all of the quick-service dining locations throughout World Showcase.  While quick-service restaurants do not require reservations, if you decide to treat yourself to any table-service meals, be sure to make your dining reservations up to 180 days in advance.

Wes, did you know that you are also welcome to bring your own food and beverages into the theme parks?  Just be sure to refer to the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules for cooler size restrictions and a list of prohibited items such as glass containers.  I often have groceries delivered to my resort hotel from a company such as Garden Grocer or Amazon Prime Now, and I find that it really helps stretch my dining budget.  Purchasing Disney Gift Cards during the months leading up to your trip is another great way to help you budget for your vacation.  Disney Gift Cards are accepted as payment at most Walt Disney World Resort dining locations.

I hope that you find this information helpful.  Please stop back if you have any additional questions.  See ya real soon!
