Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    We are saving for our trip to WDW next year with our two kids, DD4 and DS3, and are wondering where to stay. Which resort is best for suited for preschoolers. (We are over the top excited!!!)

    Andrea:

    The good news is that your family is the standard "Disney size" of four and can consider practically every option Disney affords!  The question is what can you afford?

    Without knowing your budget, let me make a recommendation in each budget category:

    • Value:  All-Star Movies: Whether it's Buzz Lightyear or Herbie, larger-than-life characters greet your children and provide the perfect theming for your vacation.  The rooms are small, but with the age of your children fit their size and any budget.  They'll leave you with plenty of money for memorable Character Dining and souvenirs!
    • Moderate: It's a tough pick between Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach Resort.  If it's hot weather, CBR with its pirate-ship themed pool and preschool water-play area gets my vote!!  Opt for the preferred Pirate-themed rooms!  For cooler months, go for Port Orleans: French Quarter with its Mardi Gras theming, but most importantly, boat to downtown Disney--an attraction in itself for the kids!
    • Deluxe: Again, tough call, but I say Polynesian.  It's pool, complete with erupting volcano, is zero-entry.  The kids will get a kick out of the nightly torch-lighting ceremony, with its drums and fire-dancer.  And monorail access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot allows you to keep your stroller open and let sleeping toddlers lie.  But the cherry on top is its Neverland Club!  Trust me, take an evening for yourself and pay for a night at the club for your kids (price includes dinner!)--they won't want to leave--which means you won't feel guilty for taking some time for yourself!
