We're saving for a trip next year to Disney World by buying and receiving gift cards for the kids. I know they can be combined into one, but can they be used towards a resort package, (ie, hotel, tickets, dining plan)?

    Hi Shani!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I absolutely love buying and receiving Disney Gift Cards because they help fund my Disney addiction! I'm very happy to say that yes, Disney Gift Cards can be used to pay for everything from your Disney Resort Hotel to a bundled vacation package to almost every snack or souvenir you find at any of Disney's four theme parks, two water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports, and at Disney Springs. You may call in payments of however much at any frequency you'd like with Disney Gift Cards in the months leading up to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort Reservation Line, whose phone number is (407) 939-1936.

One of my favorite things to do with Disney Gift Cards is pay off the balance of items charged back to the credit card that is connected to my MagicBand. At check-in you'll be required to have an authorized hold amount of $1,500 placed on your credit card. That amount is only actually charged to your card once you reach it or upon check-out, whichever comes first. So what I'll do every few days is go to the front desk of my Disney Resort Hotel and pay off the charges I've made with my Disney Gift Cards, which prevents the amount I put on the MagicBand from actually ever charging my credit card. I've checked out with a zero balance many times!

Pro Tip: check out the nationwide wholesale or warehouse club stores as they usually sell Disney Gift Cards with a slightly higher amount of value than what they actually charge you.

I hope this helped, Shani, and We'll See You in 2019!
