Hi Moms! I have been saving up Disney Giftcards for our trip this fall. Is it possible to link them to our magic bands before we go to the park? I just thought it would be more convenient. Thanks!

    Hi Mark,

Disney Gift Cards are a great way to save for a trip! At this time you cannot link gift cards to your Magic Bands. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you have two options.

    1. Take your gift cards with you to the parks and use them when you pay for food or souvenirs.

    2. When you check in, add a credit card to your account and enable charging on your Magic Band. Charge any purchases to your room using your Magic Band. At the end of each day, stop by the concierge at your resort and pay off the charges with your gift cards.

Each resort has a limit for charging. Once you reach the limit, your credit card will be charged. If you stop by each night to settle your balance, you should be able to avoid having your credit card charged.

With the new MyMagic+ system, changes seem to be happening frequently. If I were you, I would ask the resort when you check in to verify the charging limit and make sure the gift card policy hasn't changed.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
