Greetings, Lacey, and welcome to planDisney! I have good news for you: If you've had fun at Disney Parks, you will love a
Disney Cruise. There's something for everyone, and you would certainly be welcome sailing as two adults. I had a blast on a cruise last year with a group of other adults, and one of my best friends had an incredible time aboard the Disney Dream for her honeymoon!
Lacey, there's
so much to look forward to on a Disney Cruise. Rotational dining, Broadway-style shows, deck parties, special entertainment, and more are waiting for you. On the ships, you'll notice the same immersive theming, magical touches, and friendly service that you see in Disney Parks. I was in awe during my first Disney Cruise, having visited Disneyland my whole life.
It gets even better, because there are
adults-only areas throughout the ship, including the Quiet Cove Pool area, nightclubs, themed lounges, and the spa. You'll also notice exclusive sessions for activities like trivia, karaoke, variety shows, and more. Even Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, has an area called Serenity Bay for Guests ages 18 and older.
A lot of my pals recommend Palo, an
adults-only dining location serving Italian fare in a romantic setting. This is something you can book in advance of the cruise, in addition to other specialty onboard activities and port adventures. One of my favorite spots on the ship is
Cove Café – ask if your latte can be topped with a Character design! I spent a good amount of time in this cozy lounge early in the morning during my most recent cruise.
Now, it's true that there will be lots of families with kids on the ship, but did you know that many parents enjoy kid-free time thanks to the onboard youth clubs? You are welcome to go to any of the all-ages activities and events (I highly recommend the deck parties), but know that you'll have quite a few options if you prefer adults-only spaces. All this to say, you'll have a wonderful time, and I'm sure you'll be in great company!
Lacey, I love that you've been saving up to pay for part of your cruise with Disney Gift Cards. If you have a few cards, I suggest combining them at
DisneyGiftCard.com. Just create an account, register your cards, and transfer your balances. A single card can hold up to $1,000.
And here's one more tip: I suggest getting the
DisneyBand+ in advance of your cruise. This waterproof wristband makes it easy to board on embarkation day, access your stateroom, and charge purchases to your account. After the cruise, you can also use it at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort. Or, if you already have a MagicBand+, bring it along and link it to your stateroom on embarkation day.
Lacey, I hope your dreams of taking a Disney Cruise come true! If you have any other questions as you explore your options, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
