Have Savannah view getting the best animal views and not being far from the main lobby is important. Is there a point prior to arrival that I can call the hotel to give my specific requests. Any thoughts on what room I should request?

    Hi Pamela,

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful resort. I have stayed there many times with my family. From the amazing, rich decor, to the phenomenal artwork, to the ability to see exotic animals such as giraffes and zebras out of the windows, it is truly a unique place to spend your vacation.

I suggest that if you have specific requests, note them on your reservation. If you made your reservation through a travel agent, call them to ask them to do this. If you made your reservations directly through Disney, call Disney at 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639) to do so. Once you are within 10 days of your check-in date, you can call Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge directly at (407) 938-3000 to be sure that your requests are noted on your reservation. Finally, ask when you check in to be sure that your requests are noted. Sometimes, if you are willing to wait a little longer for a room, your requests can be accommodated. Please know that while Disney will do their best to honor all requests, they are not guaranteed.

As to which rooms to request, I often find that it is best to define your request as opposed to giving specific room numbers. This way, if a specific room that you request is not available, Disney will know what you are looking for. In your case, I would request a room that is close to the lobby and on a higher floor. I believe that the best views at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge are from the higher floors, where you can get a more panoramic view of the savannas. You might consider requesting to be on the Kudu Trail or the Zebra Trail, both of which overlook the Arusha Savanna, which is the central savanna.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Pamela! Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
