Are there sand toys (buckets, shovels, etc.) available to use at Castaway or do you need to bring your own along? Also, are the bike paths paved? Is it possible to use an electric scooter on bike paths around the island for our child with a disability?

    Hi Lisa,

I love Castaway Cay...it's by far my favorite cruise port!!!  There are sand toys for sale on Castaway Cay, but they are more expensive than buying them before your trip.  The bike paths are paved, and it's large enough for an electric scooter.

This is one of the many provisions made at Disney's private island to accommodate Guests with Disabilities. Also, keep in mind that sand wheelchairs are available, and free of charge, on a first-come, first-serve basis. They are meant to make maneuvering through the sand easy.  Please stop by Guest Services on boarding day to ask about availability.

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip Lisa.  Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.  Bon voyage!
