Hi, I have the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 with Google Pay installed. Can I use it like a magic band, like you can with an Android Phone with Google pay?

Hey Howdy Hey Bradley and welcome to planDisney!

MagicBands are such great tools when navigating your way through a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Having almost everything you need from a small device on your wrist is so convenient and fewer things you have to remember to take with you. Thank you so much for your question and as an Android user myself I can appreciate your inquiry! Let's review a few things and see what we can come up with.

One thing many in the Disney community were so excited to hear about last year was the development of the Disney MagicMobile Service. With this service, you can set up a MagicMobile Pass that you can use your phone to tap into things like the theme parks and even make purchases and access your Disney Resort Collection hotel room! The rollout happened first with Apple devices and then became accessible for all of us with Android devices. It was exciting to hear that the features of the MagicMobile Pass were available through Apple Pay and soon to be available with Android devices with Google Pay, hopefully.

Well, my friend, we are still waiting! To my knowledge, we are still not able to use the MagicMobile pass through Google Pay on smartwatches like those with Apple devices. As you see, there is some movement that Google Pay is becoming more available on smart watches which will be the first big step towards this happening. Yet still, we wait.

Bradley, you can still set up your MagicMobile Pass on your phone and use your phone as your access to the parks, to make purchases and room access so you would not need to purchase a MagicBand. I will be keeping my fingers crossed with you and the many other Android users anxiously awaiting word on further developments. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Nick
