Jambo Rebekah!
Welcome to planDisney! “Asante Sana” (thank you) for sending us an excellent question. I had to fight the urge to add “squash banana” like Rafiki does!
I love how you want to “Be Prepared” by knowing the proper steps for ensuring you take and submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test for your Disney Dream voyage.
The rule sets forth that Guests must provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test (paid for at the Guest’s expense) taken between 5 days and 24 hours prior to the sail date. Smart move to not get caught in a stampede of wildebeests and cut to deadline too close!
Guests may obtain their PCR test from any independent testing provider OR for U.S. residents, they may purchase a PCR testing kit directly from Inspire Diagnostics for $98.33 per test. However, there are no specifics as to whether a nasal or saliva test has to be used. So I checked in with my pals at Disney Cruise Line, and they confirmed that you could do either one. It is recommended that even though you must submit your test results from an independent testing provider via the
Safe Passage website, you should also bring documentation of that negative COVID-19 PCR test result with you to the port on Embarkation Day.
Keep checking the
Experience Updates page that pertains to the Disney Dream itineraries to get fully versed in what to expect both before and during your cruise. Hopefully it will feel like an absolute DREAM to step onboard with Captain Mickey!
Rebekah, I have such a sense of PRIDE that you entrusted your question to us. If you need more planning assistance, we hope that you will return to planDisney and we can work on it together.
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
