Hi Charles!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Are you getting ready for your WONDERful high-seas adventure? Before you know it, you'll be dancing on deck during the Sail-Away Celebration with Captain Mickey and all his friends!
You'll love experiencing the fun of a Disney Cruise with a smaller cruiser! Even though you won't be needing a car seat once onboard, it sounds like you will be needing it for your travels to the Cruise Terminal. I just checked with my friends at Disney Cruise Line and confirmed that you may use one of the stateroom luggage tags you'll receive in the mail inside your cruise booklet, and attach it to the outside of your child's car seat for the porters to take onboard with your luggage. I actually recommend putting the car seat in a car seat travel bag and attaching the stateroom tag to the outside of the bag so the seat is covered, easily transportable and the tag is visible. Once you arrive at the Cruise Terminal, you'll give the helpful luggage handlers your tagged luggage and car seat. The next time you'll see all of it will be onboard, outside your stateroom door!
If you'll be enjoying time at Walt Disney World Resort prior to your cruise and taking
Disney Cruise Line's Ground Transportation to Port Canaveral on the morning of embarkation, a Cast Member will pick up your tagged luggage from your Resort hotel room early that morning. I would have your car seat bagged, tagged and ready to go that morning. When the Cast Member picks up your other luggage, ask him/her if they would take the car seat as well. If the answer is no, you'll still be able to store it under the motor coach and drop it off with the luggage handers once you arrive at the Cruise Terminal prior to checking in for your cruise!
I hope you have an unforgettable voyage!
Beth
