Ahoy, Christianne! I am so glad you cruised back by planDisney and are allowing us to go on this epic planning journey with you. My family's cruise to
Alaska aboard the
Disney Wonder was the most spectacular vacation we've ever had.
There are endless experiences that will take your breath away and make you say "ahhhh!" on this American safari. Still, I'm sorry to say that there are no options for children under the age of 13 to enjoy a manicure or pedicure at
Senses Spa. I truly am sorry.
I have a few ideas for other activities that could provide quality Mom-and-Daughter time if you're interested.
The
Royal Court Royal Tea will have everyone feeling like a V.I.Princess. This exquisite engagement is dedicated to princes and princesses aged 3 to 12 years old, along with their entourage. This tends to fill quickly, so be sure to mark your calendar and set an alarm to remind you when your
booking window opens. You can make reservations at midnight, a very magical time in the world of Cinderella.
You can also RSVP for the
Royal Gathering. This event is a character meet-and-greet that features Disney's finest ladies with tiaras. This royal engagement is free, but a ticket is required for the Royal Secretary to secure your spot. The website states that this can be booked along with your other cruise activities when your booking window opens. In my experience, for a cruise departing later this week, reservations for the Gathering open at midnight (notice a theme?) 30 days before the departure date.
Another way to add some extra Pixie Dust to time with little cruisers is to get treats from
Cove Café. The café is exclusively for adults, but the sweets aren't. I love to stop by in the afternoon, and if they have crispy rice treats, I ask for a few to take to my kids. They are delicious, no doubt. But I think coming from a place reserved for adults makes them a little extra special to them. Enjoying these on a deck chair overlooking the ocean... Imagine if you were to see an orca in the distance. Core memories in the making!
If you want to do a few surprises, I have a friend who ordered Mickey cupcakes through
Onboard Gifts for my kids. It was so much fun to head into our stateroom on the first day and find these special treats with sweet notes left just for them.
Christianne, you've chosen the perfect cruise to celebrate the joy of family! I once asked a Cast Member why so many of the crew we meet always rave about the Alaskan cruise, and we were told that families come to dinner bursting with stories of what they saw and did. It's not just vacation. Things beyond their imagination became part of their family stories here. I am sure that the same will be true for you and your family: a trip beyond your wildest dreams.
I know this is not the answer you hoped for, but I hope the ideas help. If you have any other questions, you know you have friends in
planDisney.
SEAS the Adventure!
