We are sailing on the Wish in October and are spending one night at the All Star Sports the night before we leave for the cruise. Is there a resort restaurant we can eat at that night to view the fireworks from? We are not getting park tickets.

    Hello, Lindsay,

Thank you for sending your question to planDisney.  I'm so happy to read that you will be sailing on the Wish later this year! We had the joy of sailing on it this fall and cherished every memory we made there. The ship is stunningly beautiful and has so much charm and incredible service.  You will feel like royalty!

Since you want to start this trip in style by catching the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom the day before you depart, you have several restaurants where you can do this:

    • The California Grill: This is one of the best spots to view the fireworks on top of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Guests are welcome to watch the fireworks from the observation deck even if their dining reservation is before or after the fireworks. It is just so magical with its view of the castle and fireworks.
    • 'Ohana: Many tables along the windows provide a great view of the fireworks from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, but some of the other tables may have more of an obstructed view.
    • Narcoossee's: This restaurant has a deck with fantastic views that guests may watch the fireworks from Disney's Grand Floridian Spa & Resort. There are also many tables with equally wonderful views. However, this restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, and I'm not sure when it is set to reopen.

All of these restaurants are very popular, so I would encourage you to try to get a reservation online at 6:00 AM EST when you are 60 days out

If you'd prefer more casual dining without a reservation, I enjoy Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It is outdoor dining along Bay Lake. The fireworks may be a bit obstructed by the trees, but it isn't as crowded and is so lovely along the water. Similarly, you can get food at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (it has outdoor seating with views of the fireworks) or Capt. Cook's  at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort (you'd need to walk closer to the water to see fireworks well). TIP: Consider placing a Mobile Food and Beverage Order to save time!

Wishing you a magical trip and may all your wishes come true!  -Kara
