Ahoy, Kathleen! I’m so excited that your family will be sailing on the
Disney Wish soon! I just cruised on the ship with some of my fellow planDisney panelist pals, so I can’t wait to help you with your question.
While the
Oceaneer Club is designed for young recruits ages 3-10, I’m happy to report that Guests of all ages can enjoy the space during
Open House hours. I could not find a policy specifically stating that an adult needs to be present with your children during the Open House, but that is up to the discretion of the Youth Activities counselors on hand, based on capacity and other factors.
You are correct, Kathleen, that to enter the Oceaneer Club or Oceaneer Lab during normal operating hours, a 3-year-old needs to be fully toilet trained. I can understand why you would want your little ones to be able to experience it together. There are so many immersive worlds for young ones in these dedicated spaces on the Disney Wish, including Marvel Super Hero Academy, Fairytale Hall, and my personal favorite, Star Wars: Cargo Bay.
If your 10-year-old has a smartphone, I would make sure they have the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app downloaded before embarkation day (along with everyone in your cruise party) so they can get in touch with you at any time while on board. Even though my kids are young adults now, we still love chatting on the app using the Disney emoticons! And don’t forget you can also use the app to look up
Character greeting times too.
If you haven’t already, I would also schedule a
complimentary Character Call ahead of your trip. You’ll find it under the “
My Reservations” tab online and it’s the perfect way to get little ones excited for their upcoming adventure.
I can’t wait for you and your crew to experience all the wonder and adventure aboard the Disney Wish. If you think of any other questions before you set sail, don’t hesitate to come back to us here at
planDisney!
Embrace the magic,
Sami
