Sailing out of Vancouver in July to Alaska. Wondering about transportation to the airport and also what time would be safe to book return flight home. Traveling as a family of 13. Difficulty trying to keep all the families together. Thank you

Disney Cruise Line's Alaskan voyage is a spectacular vacation that you and your whole crew will be enjoying in just a few more months, Kimberly!

For me, this particular voyage felt the most different compared to all the other cruises around the world. The jaw-dropping beauty of Alaska is incomparable. On top of that, you've got Vancouver as an added treat - it's such a beautiful city, rich with culture and diversity.

Your disembarkation morning gets you back into the Vancouver Cruise Terminal at around 8am. The ship gets cleared by customs, and guests can debark in an orderly fashion. For your group size, and depending on how everyone moves on the last day... I would err on the side of caution, and book the latest flight out of Vancouver Airport that day. Nothing earlier than 1 or 2pm that same afternoon. Be prepared to move a bit slow-motion on your last day... no one likes leaving the ship. Oh tears!

Depending on traffic, Vancouver Airport is about 30-45 minutes away from the cruise terminal. You need to get through the middle of town first though, and sometimes city traffic can be a bit heavy. The cruise terminal area is very busy with cars and busses. It is a pickup/drop off hub for tour busses that go around the city, so it can get pretty congested with tourists too. You can choose to arrange ground transportation with Disney Cruise Line, or get a private shuttle to take you to the airport as a group.

I hope this helps, Kimberly. You've got lots of linking of stateroom reservations to do and lots of coordination and planning for your crew. I'm sure you'll have a great vacation!

    Happy planning,
