We're sailing out of Puerto Rico on May 4th on the Magic! What is the best way to get to Port with a 4 year old that is in car seat? Struggling to find answers on best transportation since this is a more rare embarkation spot. Thanks!

Hi there Michele!  Your question brings back the happy memory of my first Disney Cruise Line adventure on the Disney Magic departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, with a 2 year old almost 10 years ago!  We were so excited to experience this port and the Disney Magic.

I am unsure when you are arriving in San Juan, but you can reserve a private airport transfer between Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and Port of San Juan directly with Disney Cruise Line if you are arriving on embarkation day.  This option should be reserved as soon as possible because limited spaces are available.  Disney Cruise Line transportation may include motorcoach, minibus, or taxi, depending on your arrival time and party size, so when you reserve your spots, make sure they are aware that you have a child that would require a car seat.  If you are arriving before embarkation day and bringing your own car seat, taxis and Uber, the only ride-sharing service operating in Puerto Rico at this time, are available.

When I cruised from San Juan, I utilized the pre-cruise Disney Cruise Line hotel and booked transportation directly with Disney Cruise Line.  From the airport to the hotel, we were transported via passenger van, and a car seat was provided.  From the hotel to Port of San Juan, we boarded a motorcoach.  It was really simple to let Disney Cruise Line take care of it all!

If you like waterslides, definitely try out the AquaDunk, the only one of its kind in the Disney Cruise Line fleet of ships.  You plunge 3 stories and over the edge of the ship in a translucent tube before the splashdown at the end.  Guests must be at least 48" tall to ride, so your 4 year old probably won't be able to ride, but you can.  There is plenty of fun to be had in Goofy's Pool and the AquaLab as well.

Michele, no matter what onboard activities and Port Adventures you select, I know you will have a magical vacation.  If you think of any other questions before your cruise, sail back to planDisney.  We will be happy to help!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    JoVonn
