Ahoy there, Lisa and welcome aboard planDisney!
It sounds like you're getting ready to start packing for your
4-Night Very Merrytime Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral, and based on all of the outfits that I witnessed on board on my most recent voyage during the holiday season - it can be pretty serious business knowing what to wear each evening! While Disney Cruise Line does make it clear that these can be subject to change without prior notice, there does currently appear to be two themed
Deck Parties taking place during your voyage:
- On Day 2, you will have a Sea Day that culminates with Mickey & Minnie's Holiday Party in the evening. The attire schedule available to Cast Members suggests "Optional Dress-Up" and I observed as many folks take the opportunity to get glamorous and wear outfits befitting Very Merrytime Cruises and even families in quirky sets of matching pyjamas! Since the Disney Wish is decked out in its holiday finest all season long, feel free to bring your best festive attire to wear throughout your voyage!
- Day 3 brings an evening full of special pirate-themed touches that often includes a distinct dinner menu for every Matey aboard as well as a unique light show in the Grand Hall so feel free to dress up in your buccaneer best; some guests choose to wear small accessories like bandanas while other truly lean into their pirate attire like fellow planDisney Panelist Candace who famously dressed up in an inflatable costume of a pirate carrying a mermaid! The biggest draw however is the main event signature to Disney Cruise Line Pirate Nights, where guests head up to the upper decks for Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party on the Disney Wish. I highly recommend making sure that you have a great view of the stage as well as the skies on the Starboard side of the ship, which consistently seems to be the direction in which the fireworks are launched - though of course this can never be guaranteed and subject to change with the outdoor conditions that evening.
While these are always optional attire choices that guests can make, I love how many folks and families of seafarers really take it to the next level with outfits appropriately worn to match the themes of
1923,
Worlds of Marvel and
Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. I hope this helps you plan for your packing next week, Lisa - come back to us here at planDisney for any other tips or advice before you set sail!
Here's to enjoying the Holidays on the High seas!
