Hello, Norihito, and welcome to planDisney! The
Disney Treasure is an amazing ship, and I love that you'll have a chance to experience
Castaway Cay as well! Let's talk about the beloved 5K.
Norihito, I have good news for you: The Castaway Cay 5K is currently self-guided, and there isn't an official start time. Once you arrive at the island, head to the bike rental station and follow the signs from there. Whether you run, jog, or walk, you should have enough time to complete the course with a late-morning arrival. I suggest making that the first thing you do on the island, however, just so you can have plenty of time to pick up your medal from the bike rental station. It looks like the "Aboard Time" will be 4:45 p.m., and the bike rental station will probably close an hour or so before then. You also want to make sure you are back on the ship before this time.
I participated in the Castaway Cay 5K back in 2024. Some friends ran the whole time, while others (including myself) chose to walk. Once you've finished, you'll return to the bike rental station to pick up your medal!
There are a few things you will want to keep in mind. Since you'll be starting the 5K a little later in the morning, you should plan for it to potentially be warmer and more humid. Dress accordingly, bring water and a hat, and don’t hesitate to walk if you need to. You can even plan to take a quick break at the Observation Tower along the route, if it's open, to spend a few minutes enjoying the beautiful views of nature before you continue.
After you finish, consider taking the tram to Serenity Bay, an adults-only beach, to soak up the tranquil atmosphere and get lunch. Among other activities on Castaway Cay, I really loved
snorkeling in the lagoon – it was friendly to me as a beginner, and there were lots of surprises to discover in the water.
Once you've boarded the Disney Treasure at the start of your cruise, connect your phone to Wi-Fi and check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. It will populate with all the schedule information for your trip. You'll learn about onboard activities, entertainment, and much more. The
Guest Services Desk (located on Deck 4 of the Disney Treasure) is also a good resource if you have questions while on board.
