We are sailing the Mediterranean in May. Can we exchange US Dollars for Euros on the cruise or should we before arriving. We didn't purchase ground transfers through DCL.Is it too late to do so and if so, what's the best option for getting to the airport?

    Greetings, Jodie!

Your Mediterranean voyage on the Disney Magic is almost here & I can't help but look back on how much my family & I enjoyed our Med Cruise just a few years ago. You & your own crew will have an awesome time! It is a wonderful action packed itinerary with lots of spectacular sights to enjoy. My kids & I still marvel at all the wonderful ports that we visited - such an amazing cultural adventure for everyone!

Prior to leaving the US, I usually will have a small amount of Euros on hand already -- enough for a cab ride from the airport, or some money for a snack/drinks upon arrival. Credit cards are widely accepted & there's also lots ATM's around town - I found it very convenient & easy. When you are out visiting ports for the day, it also helps to have some local currency on hand. The Disney Cruise makes it convenient for you, since you can exchange US Dollars for Euros at the Guest Services desk on board.

If you are arranging a Pre-Cruise night stay at either the Hilton or Renaissance Hotel in Barcelona, you can avail of the Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation to bring you to the Port on embarkation morning. There is a $30/person charge one-way, and there will be a cast member waiting for you at the hotel lobby. On the way home, the bus can take you from the Port back to the airport at the same cost of $30/person. You can add the DCL Ground Transportation options to your cruise reservation by calling the DCL Travel Desk at 1-800-951-3532 at least 2 weeks prior to your departure. My family and I stayed a week in Barcelona prior to the cruise, and we found it very easy to take a taxi to the Port. You can't miss the bright Disney Cruise Ship docked - our driver called it, 'the Mouse ship'. Perfect timing, as we broke THE surprise news to our kids in his cab. It's an epic trip I'll never forget!

Have a great trip! Let me know if you need more help!
