Ahoy there, Lori! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so excited that you and your crew have a sailing just on the horizon! May is such an incredible time to sail, and I'm sure your plans are coming into focus faster than you can say "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!"
Hmm...that actually takes a while to say now that I think about it...
In any case, after a
day full of activities around the ship, lounging in the sun, rushing around on an amazing
Port Adventure, or maybe even getting a few reps in at the
Fitness Center at Senses Spa & Salon, a costume change is always in order before heading to dinner! I don't know about you, but some of the littlest sailors in our crew sometimes need a costume change AFTER dinner, too.
Since you're already aware of one of my favorite tips on the Disney Cruise Line ships - self service Guest Laundry - I'll get right down to it: I'm pleased to report that yes, there are additional
Laundry Services available! In your stateroom closet, you'll find a laundry bag, as well as a card outlining prices for Dry Cleaning as well as "normal" laundry! It's important to note that prices for full-service laundry are on a per-item basis. Now, prices can change frequently, but the last time I cruised they ranged from around $2.00 USD for a pair of socks, to around $5.00 USD for a shirt or blouse.
I'm more of a "get out of the sun during the middle of the day and do a load of laundry myself" kind of guy - especially because the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app notifies me when the cycle is done - but if you'd like to take advantage of the full-service offering, be sure to notify your Stateroom Host or Hostess or Guest Services by 9:00 AM for pickup and next-day return. Same-day Express Laundry Service is also available at an extra charge!
OH, and one extra "planDrew-approved" tip: no matter which service you choose to ensure your costume changes are taken care of, I always pack a small pop-up hamper so we have a separate, dedicated place to keep our laundry until we either pack it for the trip home or do a load on the ship! As sad as it is to watch the debarkation presentation in your stateroom, doing the laundry that day and packing clean clothes is a transformative experience when it comes to making your way home.
I hope those tips help you make a CLEAN getaway with you and your crew, Lori! Thank you so much for your question, and if any other tricky bits threaten to STAIN your planning, you can always drop us a line!
Fair winds and following seas!
Andrew
