Ahoy, Teri Lynn!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
I'm so happy to hear you'll be sailing on the beautiful
Disney Magic. I've yet to sail on the re-imagined ship - that's next on my vacation to-do-list! The amazing new spaces and re-designed areas have been a hit with guests.
On a five-night voyage, you'll typically have three "Cruise Casual" evenings, an optional dress-up night, and an oh-so-awesome
Pirate Night. Semi-Formal Captain's Gala themed nights are reserved for cruises seven nights in length or more.
That being said, you'll probably still get a chance to meet the captain of the ship during your sailing. On our last four-night Disney Cruise (on the Disney Dream), we had the honor of meeting Captain Henry in the lobby atrium one evening before dinner. My first thought was "Who's driving the ship?" Not to worry - the Disney ships are staffed with an awesome crew that kept us on course, safe and entertained throughout the cruise!
Hopefully this helps with your planning and preparing for your Disney Cruise Line vacation. Please let us know if you have any more questions before you set sail! - Diane W.
