We are sailing on the Magic in July 2026 from Vancouver for a tour of Alaska's Inside Passage. Can you tell me which marina/port/dock Disney uses for embarkation? I want to make a hotel booking for the night before, so proximity is important

    Hi, Laurence!

I have sailed many times with Captain Mickey and Disney Cruise Line. Each and every voyage was special, but my cruise to Alaska was my hands down favorite. There is a whole different vibe on an Alaskan cruise. It is much more relaxed, and the scenery and ports are all amazing. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful part of the country again someday!

When sailing out of Vancouver, your Disney Cruise ship will be docked at the Canada Place Port Terminal, located at 999 Canada Place in Vancouver. If you want a hotel as close as possible, I suggest the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel which is literally above the cruise terminal! When my family stayed there, they even transferred our luggage from our room to the terminal so all we had to take with us were our carry-on bags. There are several other hotels within walking distance, but you may have to cross streets or take some stairs which may be a bit more difficult with luggage.

Hopefully you will have a day or two to enjoy Vancouver before boarding the ship. There is so much to see and do! My family rented bikes for a spin around Stanley Park and even made a visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. We really did not need to pre-plan anything, and most places of interest were walkable or a bus ride away. I hope you take some time to explore this wonderful city.

Once onboard, the cruise fun begins! Have the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App downloaded on your phone so you can keep up with all the activities, character meet and greet locations, movie times, and more. Mickey and Minnie can be found in their finest Alaskan fashions, so try to schedule time when they are dressed for the occasion!

Packing for Alaska is a bit different than your typical cruise! Bring layers as you may have some warm days, but it will cool off by the afternoon and evening. If you are planning any hiking or outdoor adventures, pack hiking shoes or boots, and even a backpack to carry around goodies such as sunglasses, phones, chargers, water bottles, and any other necessities. And even though it is Alaska, you might have a nice afternoon where you will be able to take a dip in the pool so plan to bring your swimsuit in case the weather permits.

Wishing you a magical sailing! If you have any other questions leading up to your cruise, stop back to planDisney. Bon Voyage!
