We're sailing the Magic 8/25 to celebrate my sons 5th B'day,a couple of days after his actual B'day. Can we pick the day to celebrate his B'day on board? He's been very into Pirates this year so I was thinking of choosing "Pirate night", he'd love

    Hi Lisa Marie!

Number 5 is a magical birthday!!!  The first thing you should do when you arrive is visit Guest Services and ask for his birthday button.  He'll get special attention throughout the ship wearing that.  You can pick one night or every night to celebrate your son's birthday!  Disney is all about celebrating magical moments in your life which means the more celebrating the better!

I think it's a fabulous idea to pick Pirate Night for his birthday celebration.  The atmosphere throughout the ship on Pirate Night is just electric!  Everyone joins in on the fun.  Many of the guests (all ages) wear costumes and everyone enjoys the Pirate games on the Deck Stage where Captain Mickey and his famous Pirate Crew are playing.  The Buccaneer Blast Fireworks that only Disney Cruise Line is permitted to do is an amazing sight to see!  Your son will never have a party like this one, and you won't have to lift a finger.

You can also order from the cruise line's Celebrations Packages.  They are available to purchase and include great in-room decorations and a customized birthday cake.  The cake can be delivered to your stateroom or to your dining table.  Please remember that cakes need to be ordered at least seven days in advance of your sail date.    If you would rather not order a customized cake, your server will bring your son a special dessert and the staff will sing Happy Birthday at the restaurant.

Happy birthday to your little pirate!  Bon voyage Lisa Marie!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
