Hi, Jenny!
Disney Pin exchanges began about a decade ago as a way to commemorate events, destinations and characters at various Disney parks, resorts and vacations. For me and my family, it has developed into an endearing activity that not only serves as a catalyst for making new friends and meeting other guests but serves to recall wonderful family memories, too.
Every member of our family has a Disney pin collection, and we allow each person to acquire one or two new ones per year based on our trips to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line or other Disney resorts. Our kids choose to purchase pins based on their personalities, their personal favorites or to benchmark achievements. And sometimes, they want to purchase a set of pins just to have some to exchange with Cast Members or other guests.
Pin purchasing and trading is alive and well on Disney Cruise Line as you can find ones that aren't available anywhere else except for the shops onboard (while at sea) or at Castaway Cay. For more information on the protocol and guidelines of Disney pin trading, you can go to the
Official Disney Pin site. I hope this helps you.
Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
