Nancy from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are sailing on February 16th - 20th on the Wish. 13 of us including 7 grandkids. Is there a Pirate Party on this cruise? Do we need to dress formally for any night of the cruise? We prefer to stay casual. Thank you for much! We are very excited!

Ahoy, Nancy, and welcome to planDisney! Reading your question warmed my heart. The only thing better than a Disney Cruise is sharing the experience with your whole family.

I'm pleased as a pirate who found hidden treasure – that's because I get to tell you that there is indeed a Pirate Night scheduled for your cruise! Currently, it's set for Day 3 (after the ship departs Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point). While the schedule is subject to change, you should be good to pack your pirate-themed outfits!

I just love Pirate Night. Typically, you can expect to encounter themed activities, a special dinner menu, and exciting entertainment, including a really fun deck party. Plus, if weather conditions allow, you'll be treated to fireworks during this cruise, too. Pirate attire is encouraged, but optional.

Your cruise also includes an optional dress-up night currently scheduled on Day 2, but you are certainly welcome to dress casually! You can learn more about dining attire on the Disney Cruise Line website. The only areas where Guests really need to dress in formal or semi-formal attire are adult-exclusive restaurants like Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté. At most other onboard dining locations, dressing "cruise casual" is fine!

Nancy, you'll definitely want to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App if you haven't already – once you board the ship and connect to the onboard Wi-Fi, you'll use it to check schedules and activities specific to your cruise. That's how you can confirm which night will have a pirate theme!

I enjoy the app for other reasons, too. You can also use it to send messages to others in your party, which is helpful for a big group. You can also use it to find family-friendly activities. My kids still talk about silent disco – it was one of the highlights of our trip. The family karaoke and trivia sessions were fun, too!

Before we part ways, I want to say how excited I am for you to experience the enchanting allure of the Disney Wish. The ship is gorgeous – when I first entered the Grand Hall, I was in awe of the chandelier, the bronze statue of Cinderella (and her glass slipper nearby), the whimsical designs on the railings, and even the patterns on the floor. Together, it all feels like a real-life fairytale. I hope you love it.

Nancy, I hope you have the most amazing time on your Bahamian cruise. If you think of any other questions as your magical adventure approaches, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!

Wishing you many happy moments with your family,
