We are sailing on the dream in November. I have a 3 & 2 year old. Do I need to purchase Disney bands for them? I was wondering how that would work with the kids / nursery clubs. Thanks.

    Hi there, Nina!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I bet you are getting excited for your Disney Cruise! I usually book my Disney Cruises more than a year in advance, and those last few months before our voyage make me very impatient. I just want to board the ship!

DisneyBand+ is a waterproof wristband that makes it a breeze to enter your stateroom and charge select food and souvenirs to the credit card you have on file. Plus it is a cute accessory! My kids like having their own DisneyBand+ because the grown-ups wear them. Choosing a fun DisneyBand+ also gets my kids excited about our upcoming cruise. However, I think they are unnecessary for younger kids. Children ages 3-10 can receive a Disney Oceaneer Band to enter Disney's Oceaneer Club and Disney's Oceaneer Lab. Keep in mind that Disney Oceaneer Bands do not offer stateroom access or photo linking, and they also need to be returned at the end of your sailing. As a reminder, three-year-old children must be fully potty trained to be dropped off at Disney's Oceaneer Club.

Little ones ages 6 months to 3 years old (or 1-3 years old on Transatlantic, Hawaii, and Panama Canal itineraries) might enjoy spending time in "it's a small world" nursery!, where they can usually get a Disney Oceaneer Band for the duration of the voyage. This adorable Youth Club has games, crafts, movies, and more for some of Disney Cruise's youngest sailors. Reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis during the open house on Embarkation Day or anytime throughout your cruise (subject to availability). There is an additional fee to drop kids off at "it's a small world" nursery!

Nina, thank you again for reaching out to planDisney. I hope your family enjoys their trip aboard the Disney Dream!

    Happy sailing!
