Hi Shelby!
So glad you have a Disney cruise on the horizon in a few days! Since you need to get some testing done for your child before setting sail, let’s get you this answer right now!
The
Know Before You Go page on Disney Cruise Line’s website sets forth all the rules regarding pre-cruise testing. Disney Cruise Line requires that for departures before January 13, 2022, Guests 11 years of age and younger are not required to be vaccinated but must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. The test should be a NAAT test, rapid PCR test or lab-based PCR test. Rapid antigen tests are not accepted. This test must be taken between 3 days and 24 hours before your sail date.
Based on what I have read about the ID Now test, you are correct that it is a Rapid Molecular PCR/NAAT test, and therefore, it would be ok for you to have your child tested using this one. You will then submit the negative COVID-19 test results using the
Safe Passage website. As your child’s parent/legal guardian, you will use your own account to provide this information on behalf of a minor.
Shelby, I hope this information proves helpful to you and that you will have a DREAMy cruise!
Bon Voyage!
Sherry
