We're sailing on Dream 01/08/2016 with an 18 month old. Taking an red-eye flight fr CA and will arrive at 5am. Any recommendations on what to do and where to go while we're waiting for the transfer bus? I'm nervous about the 5 hr wait with an 18 mo old.

    Greetings fellow Californian!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question, Joy. You are definitely kicking off 2016 with a bang. How exciting to hear that you'll be sailing with Captain Mickey soon.

My family and I have done the red eye flight from California to Orlando in the past too. Arriving at least a day earlier is always best, but sometimes, our schedules just don't want to cooperate - so I know exactly about your dilemma. The nice part about arriving early in the morning, is that you can VERY leisurely walk from your airline arrival gate to the baggage claim area. After you pickup your checked-in baggage, you can easily take them downstairs to the Magical Express Welcome Center in Side B, level 1 of the airport. This is the boarding area for your ground transfers that will take you from MCO airport to Port Canaveral that morning. There are a lot of comfortable sofas and seats in the waiting area.

In the past, we've parked ourselves in one of the sofa sets and one of us goes upstairs to pickup some breakfast. Likely, your little one will still be sleepy (since it's really only 3am PST!), and can continue sleeping in that area -- it will still be pretty quiet. You might or might not be hungry at that time, but just in case you do get the munchies that morning, there are a couple of food choices that are open early, just upstairs from where the waiting area is.

I would suggest taking it easy and just relaxing at the airport, since you'll be tired from the time zone change and the lack of sleep from the night before.

Hope this helps, Joy! Let us know if you have any additional questions that we can help with.

    Happy planning,
