We are sailing in the Dream in Jan. 2013. Our daughter has multiple severe food allergies. We know that she will be able to eat in the restaurants but are wondering about snacks. Will she be able to get Tofutti or Rice frozen desert outside of meal time?

    Hi Kirsten!

I have to say that Disney Cruise Line is exceptional at handling dietary restrictions and food allergies. You're daughter will not have any issues dining onboard. As you know, you can call the cruise line before sailing and tell the reservationist what your daughter's food allergies are (in detail). It will be noted on your reservation. On your first evening, your Server will ask if there are any food allergies they need to be concerned with. Go ahead and remind them. Your evening Servers follow you throughout the cruise, dining room to dining room, and really get to know you. They'll take care of you.

The quick serve establishments on the pool deck have the ingredients list for everything that is prepared. Just ask them for it, and they will help you find substitutions for your daughter.  Also, ask them for what you are looking for.

In reference to ice cream and desserts, the chefs onboard will be able to create some special treats for her during table service meals.  Remember, you can always order snacks through room service.  Have them bring the snacks to you so you don't have to track them down.

Have a wonderful time on your trip Kirsten! Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel!
