I will be sailing on Dream with my granddaughter. She will turn 3 on the last full day at sea. Will she be able to go to the Oceanear club prior to her birthday or will she have to go to the nursery the first few days? She is fully potty trained.

    Ahoy there, Bridget!

I can practically feel the pixie dust sparkling as you prepare for your magical voyage aboard the Disney Dream with your granddaughter! What a special adventure you two have ahead—it’s going to be a vacation filled with wonder, whimsy, and memories to treasure forever.

While your granddaughter is potty-trained (that’s definitely worth a round of applause from Tinker Bell!), the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab have a minimum age cutoff of 3 years old. So, she’ll have to wait until her birthday to officially join the adventures there. But oh, what a way to celebrate turning 3—diving right into Animator’s Studio, The Wheelhouse, or Playmation! Until then, the “it’s a small world” nursery! will be her go-to, offering plenty of activities and care tailored to younger sailors.

Here’s a little pixie-dusted tip: During the Oceaneer’s open house hours, you can both explore together! These hours are the perfect opportunity for her to get a sneak peek at the enchanting spaces she’ll soon call her own. You’ll love seeing her eyes light up when she discovers Andy’s Room, Pixie Hollow, and all the other incredible areas waiting for her.

And for her big day, I highly recommend picking up a complimentary birthday button from Guest Services to let everyone know it’s her special day! You might even consider surprising her with a themed birthday treat from the Onboard Gifts. Nothing says “I’m 3!” quite like a sprinkle-covered Mickey-shaped cookie or cupcake!

Until her big birthday moment, there’s still so much magic to enjoy! Funnel Vision on the pool deck is the perfect place to snuggle up with some popcorn and watch a Disney classic. And don’t forget about the character greetings—there’s nothing quite like seeing your little one’s face light up when she gets a hug from Mickey or Minnie.

Bridget, I know this cruise will be one for the books. Whether she’s making friends at the nursery, playing in the Oceaneer Club on her birthday, or dancing with her favorite characters, these memories will be treasures you both hold onto forever.

Wishing you smooth seas, endless smiles, and the most magical 3rd birthday celebration on the high seas!

Sea ya real soon with pixie dust and ocean breezes,
    Dustin
