It’s very exciting that you have a
Disney Destiny sailing right on the horizon! I bet that you’re in the middle of planning all the exciting Disney cruise vacation things right now and getting that fun packing list in order! I would be happy to answer your question regarding Disney’s Oceaneer Club on board to help you prepare for your sailing ahead.
There are so many fun things for kids to do in
Disney’s Oceaneer Club! So much so that oftentimes when I would drop off my kids, I would wish that I was a kid too, just so I could experience all the fun activities inside! During Operating Hours, only kids aged 3-10 may visit Disney’s Oceaneer Club. However, during
Open House hours, anybody may visit, and it offers a great time for families to play together.
In my experience, the 3- and 4-year-olds are separated from the older kids inside Disney's Oceaneer Club, and they cannot opt out of this group for the younger kids. This is currently the
policy, but please note that policies are always subject to change. This means that during Operating Hours, your 4-year-old and 9-year-old will likely be separated. This is to create a secure and calming environment for the younger children. I know when one of my kids was 4, she was always very nervous playing with the older kids, even with her older sister. So having those smaller groups with guided activities led by the terrific Youth Counselors helped tremendously.
However, during
Open House hours, they may play together, as well as with the whole family! You can find the Open House hours for Disney's Oceaneer Club on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once you're on board your cruise. I also advise you to tour Disney’s Oceaneer Club during Open House hours on the day that you embark on the Disney Destiny. It will help to see the different spaces they will be in, as well as ask any questions you might have to the Youth Counselors.
