Welcome to planDisney Ellen!
An
Alaskan Cruise has the added bonus of sailing in and out of the beautiful city of
Vancouver. When my family sailed, we arrived a day early to explore and we were so happy we did. We rode bikes around Stanley Park (I suggest the electric bikes, it really helps!), took the bus to the
Capilano Suspension Bridge, and walked around the city and found many amazing dining options, and even saw the 2010 Olympic Cauldron! What an adventure!
Your cruise will sail from the Canada Place Cruise Terminal. If you do a quick google search, you will see there is a luggage storage right in the terminal so you can drop your bags and explore. Just make sure to be back to the port to collect your bags and get to the airport on time for your flight!
Since we are chatting about luggage, be prepared when packing before you leave home! Weather can change day to day in Alaska, and even throughout the day. I suggest packing clothes that can be layered. I usually wore a hoodie or sweatshirt with a coat over it on cooler days. On warmer days, a long sleeve T-shirt might do the trick, but always have a sweatshirt and rain gear handy (bring a backpack to take on
Port Adventures to store your extra clothes). Also take care when packing shoes, being mindful of your planned excursions. Plan if you need hiking boots, walking shoes, etc. You will also want some shoes for around the ship, so shoes will take up a good part of your luggage for sure!
While it will be sad to say "bon voyage" to the
Disney Wonder, you will certainly end your vacation with a fun day in Vancouver. Enjoy!
