We will be sailing on the Disney Wonder in Sept 2011. I have read that they will be served "kid food" at meal times. Do they have to eat the usual pizza, mac and cheese and such? Or will they be able to eat what we are eating?

    Ahoy, Sabrina!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the beautiful Disney Wonder this fall!  That magnificent ship was the first Disney Cruise Line (DCL) vessel on which our family sailed, and we make our return voyage this summer...to Alaska!  I can't wait for each of our families' adventures!

With our four children, we have a big disparity of palates -- ranging from extremely picky to quite adventuresome. My children have been able to try such delicacies as escargot and bison steaks at dinner aboard DCL ships.  One of my children -- who wasnt' particularly hungry one evening -- asked if she could just have a couple of polenta cakes since she saw it as a side dish on the menu.  Voila..her wish was granted!

At breakfast and lunch, the Beach Blanket Buffet aboard the Disney Wonder serves up a variety of tasty treats from which you can choose. Plus, there are several quick-service counters near the pools on Deck 9 -- which offer anything from pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, ice cream and much more! Yet, at dinner in the three rotational dining restaurants, you and your children simply consider all the choices from the menu, and your server acts as your epicurean fairy godmother/father..of sorts!

Therefore, in the dining rooms aboard a Disney cruise and as the song says, "put our service to the test...and be our guest!"  If I can answer more questions for you, you can find my direct link on the DisneyCruise.com Planning Center -- along with a lot more information to help answer your vacation questions.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
