Hi. We will be sailing on Disney Wonder from Jan 3rd - Jan 5th 2024 from Sydney. Are you able to let us know what activites are expected on this cruise, or any expectations/tips? Thank you =)

Ahoy there Molly Siew, I'd like to welcome you aboard planDisney!

As you can imagine, soon-to-be seafarers across the globe are excitedly awaiting their Disney Magic At Sea voyages debuting this year on the intrepid explorer of oceans known as the Disney Wonder and for a time - a vessel that I called home at sea. Now since this 2-Night Disney Magic at Sea Cruise from Sydney is essentially the first of its kind, we won't really know for certain what offerings will be available until Embarkation Day when you check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for the most updated schedule of activities and events.

The thing with Disney Cruise Line voyages is that there's a tendency for the experience to be consistent every time so that every guest can have a similar experience as though it's their first time, regardless of whether they're a frequent Castaway Club cruiser! My biggest tip is to watch videos and look up Personal Navigators or daily schedules from recent cruises on board to get a sense of how activities are scheduled throughout each day; you'll find that a shorter sailing like yours will be a more condensed experience of just the most major offerings you'd find on a longer voyage to give folks a little taste of what's typically in store. That said, here are a few things that you might be able to look forward to (while keeping in mind that anything on board is subject to change without prior notice):

You'll kick off your voyage with a major event up on deck like Mickey’s Sail-A-Wave Party!… A Bon Voyage Celebration as you set off into the sunset from Sydney. Over the next two evenings, you'll likely be treated to performances of Frozen, A Musical Spectacular or Disney Dreams – An Enchanted Classic in the Walt Disney Theatre as The Golden Mickeys typically only take place on longer sailings of 3 nights or more.

Similarly, the Pirate Night Deck Party or Disney Ever After Fireworks at Sea are not guaranteed on shorter cruises, but you may be treated to something called Heroes Unite - a "nighttime spectacular on the upper deck featuring stunts, special effects, pyrotechnics and an incredible line-up of Marvel Super Heroes and Villains." This is something that I recommend keeping an eye out for in the event that it is offered during your sailing!

Finally, one of the dining experiences exclusive to the Disney Wonder is Tiana's Place, and according to the information available to Disney Cruise Line Cast Members it states the following: "On 2-night cruises, Guests who are not assigned for dinner at Tiana’s Place will be invited to a special breakfast seating, complete with live jazz, special entertainment, delicious beignets and savoury breakfast items." I think this is a great way to ensure that everyone gets to have a taste of what it's like!

Here's to setting sail on New Adventures in the New Year!
