Ahoy there, Susan!
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your activities and concierge question! My family and I had the chance to sail on the
Disney Wish during Halloween on the High Seas, and it was truly spooktacular from start to finish. We actually celebrated my daughter’s birthday on board, and it’s one of those core memories she always reminds us of.
So, Susan, let’s dive right into your questions! During
Halloween on the High Seas, the ship is filled with themed activities that really bring the spooky season to life. We loved meeting Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle dressed as the Sanderson Sisters, which was such a fun surprise! There’s also the Mickey’s Mouse-querade party, the lively Oogie Boogie Bash dance party, and trick-or-treating throughout the ship. And these are additional activities beyond those already on board. It truly feels like Halloween magic at sea.
Just remember that activities can vary by sailing, but once you’re onboard, everything will be listed in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, which makes it super easy to plan your day and not miss a thing.
Now let’s talk
concierge, because it really does add an extra layer of magic. One of the biggest perks is being able to request
Port Adventures and onboard activities 130 days before sailing. If you’re dreaming of a cabana at
Castaway Cay or
Lookout Cay, this gives you a great head start. We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy cabanas, and they are such a relaxing way to spend your island day.
Concierge also includes priority check-in and boarding, a private welcome reception, and access to the concierge lounge. The lounge quickly became one of our favorite spots, with snacks and drinks available throughout the day, and cocktails in the evening. There’s also a private sundeck, which is perfect for a quiet place to unwind. You also have access to a team of concierge hosts who truly are some of the friendliest cast members around. They are always there to help with any additional questions that you may have. In fact, on our last sailing, my husband forgot his belt and had mentioned it to our host. Next thing you know, we are back in our room, and sure enough, there was a belt waiting in his size.
One of my favorite concierge perks is the early access to the
theater. You can arrive about 30 minutes before showtime to choose your seats before the general public begins to arrive. Plus, when you arrive, you are greeted with complimentary popcorn and water. My husband and I would typically grab a glass of wine from the lounge beforehand, while the kids munched on the popcorn.
And on disembarkation day, concierge offers an expedited departure process, which makes that last morning just a little smoother, even if it is the saddest day of the cruise.
Susan, I hope this helps you feel even more excited for your Halloween on the High Seas adventure. You are truly in for such a treat of a sailing! If you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again.
See you real soon,
Christina
