Hi Melissa!
Welcome to planDisney! Well now, isn’t having a Disney cruise on the calendar a wonderful feeling? I hope you and your family experience all kinds of
Disney magic during your cruise on the
Disney Magic.
I’m so glad you stopped by with this excellent question. I can SEA how the age requirements might be confusing because the Fitness Center onboard is actually located in
Senses Spa and Salon, and the spa is reserved for Guests 18 and older. But here’s where the Fitness Center differs from the spa rules. Your 17-year old can absolutely use the Fitness Center onboard. In fact, Guests 14 years old and older may use this gym; however, Guests ages 14 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult to participate.
So your daughter can keep her normal workout regime in place during her voyage. Well, that is if you call “normal” being able to view the ocean while using a treadmill or lifting weights. I’d call that a definite improvement in gym scenery!
As of now, the other important requirements in the
Fitness Center are that face coverings are required for all Guests inside the Fitness Center at all times, including while working out, and appropriate attire and athletic shoes must be worn at all times. These rules may be modified in the future, at which time they will update that information on the Disney Cruise Line website.
Feel free to take a SPIN back by planDisney if we can answer more cruise planning questions. It’s a great WORKOUT for us to share our Disney knowledge about something we love so much.
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
