We are sailing on the Disney magic on April 16 for five nights and we want know what the theme nights are so we can pack the appropriate gear

Hello there Rachel! Thank you for visiting us at planDisney as you prepare for your voyage aboard the Disney Magic. It is lovely to have you here.

Your unique sailing itinerary includes two stops at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay! You definitely have a course charted for magic and adventure and I bet you are ready to pack your bags soon. Let's talk about what you can expect for your upcoming voyage.

If you are ready to party like a pirate, pack your most swashbuckling attire. On one night of your five-night sailing, you can expect pirate-themed entertainment and activities throughout the afternoon and evening, as well as a pirate takeover during dinner. If your current wardrobe just doesn't make the pirate cut, you can don the bandana that your stateroom attendant will deliver to your room for the festivities. Pirate attire is also often available for purchase at Mickey's Mainsail on Deck four of the Disney Magic. Dressing up like a pirate is completely optional and whether you get decked in pirate garb or not, watching your fellow shipmates turn "scallywags" is certainly entertaining.

Rachel, for the remaining four nights of your sailing, it is likely that the recommended attire will be "Cruise Casual". This simply means that casual attire like something you might wear to go out to dinner in your hometown is suggested. Tank tops and swimwear are not permitted in the main dining rooms. You may also see one evening of your itinerary listed as a "Dress Up" night in which some cruisers prefer to wear jackets, dress suits, pantsuits, skirts, or dresses. Dressing up is optional. Many families decide to dress up on their final night of cruising, whether it is suggested in the itinerary or not. You may decide what is best and most comfortable for your sailing crew. Once you step onboard, you will be able to use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to view which evening will be designated as Pirate Night as well as the suggested attire for the subsequent evenings.

If you have made a reservation for the adult-exclusive restaurant Palo, they do have a dress code. Dress slacks and a collared shirt are required for men (jackets are optional). For women, a dress, skirt, or slacks and blouse are required. I highly recommend booking a brunch or dinner reservation at Palo. The service is superb and the menu is absolutely mouth-watering. If you are unable to snag a spot for this popular dining option, you can always inquire about any additional availability once you are onboard.

I hope that you feel prepared to pack your bags and set out for your adventure soon! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any further questions for us. It's our pleasure to help.

    Bon Voyage!
