We are sailing on the Disney Fantasy next month. Our daughter is a crawler - are the state room carpets cleaned between sailings or only vacuumed?

    Hi there, Gina!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  How excited are you now that you can say, “I am going on a Disney Cruise Line vacation NEXT month!!”?!?!  Before you know it, you will be celebrating with all the other Guests as you head to sea for a week-long adventure that you won’t forget!

I am so happy to hEAR that you are taking a little Mouseketeer with you, and your question brought back lots of memories for me of our very first Disney Cruise Line vacation!  In fact, we were on a voyage with Captain Mickey last week and we looking back on those first few voyages and the memories that we made when our boys were much smaller!  Like you, on our first Disney Cruise Line vacation, our son was seven-months old and exploring everything on his hands and knees!  He especially loved the phone cord (which immediately got put out of his reach) and the drawers throughout the stateroom!  Since the ship is turned around so quickly between voyages (Guests disembark in the morning and new Guests begin embarking around lunchtime), I do not believe they clean the carpets in the staterooms, but I do know that they are regularly vacuumed.  In fact, during your voyage, your stateroom host or hostess will service your room twice daily– once in the morning and again in the early evening for turndown service.  You can check with your stateroom host and ensure that they run the vacuum both times if they are not already planning on doing so, but I do believe that they do!  And I say that because we will often order Room Service in the middle of the afternoon as a predinner snack for our littles and they undoubtedly leave a mess of crumbs wherever they are and those are always noticeably gone when we return in the evening!

If you haven’t yet booked time in the “it’s a small world” nursery! for your little, I recommend doing so before setting sail.  We loved using the nursery for naptimes or in the evenings so we could enjoy the nightly entertainment.  Also check your Navigator app for onboard activities and playtimes that are specific to the littlest cruisers!

Wishing you the most magical and memorable adventure at sea!  Have a FANTAStic voyage!

    Happy Sailing!
