We are sailing on the Disney Dream (3-night Bahamas cruise) in 2 weeks. I have 2 girls (a 3 yr old & 1 yr old) & I was wondering what they should wear for formal night? Nice dresses or princess costumes? Its hard to tell from the pictures on the

    Hi, Aimee!

Yay -- your turn to sail on the beautiful Disney Dream is coming up very soon! I wish I could see your princesses' faces when they step foot on that magnificent ship -- it makes me want to wear a princess costume, too!

On a three-night Bahamian cruise aboard the Disney Dream, there isn't a "formal night," but rather an optional "dress up" night.  In other words, you probably won't see men in tuxedos and women in ball gowns. However, many guests will don suits, sport coats, semi-formal attire, dresses and other fancy duds. Princess costumes on the tiniest  of royalty are certainly suitable and appropriate!

If you're lucky, your night to dine in Royal Palace may line up with the dress up night which will make for a double reason why your little girls should dress up as their favorite princesses. Yet, don't forget any piratical attire you may own as one night is set aside for dressing up like swashbuckling bandits, too!

I hope this helps you pack. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
