Hi - we're sailing on the Disney Dream at the end of May. My 3 year old son has mild autism and I am wondering if he can participate in the Oceaneers Club if I stay to assist him. I think he would really enjoy the activities, but he couldn't stay alone.

    Hi Tara,

I'm thrilled that you are going to be enjoying the Disney Dream in May.  What a wonderful trip you're in for, and on a magnificent ship!

I called Disney Cruise Line to make sure of the policy on parents staying with their kids in the youth clubs.  Unfortunately, adults are not permitted to stay for extended periods of time inside of the youth club.  However, they are welcome to stop by and check on their kids.

The good news I have for you is that your son will still be able to enjoy the Oceaneer Club and Lab during certain periods of time throughout the cruise with you.  Special Family Time is scheduled in these clubs, and you will be able to take him and stay to enjoy the fun.  Look for Family Time on your Personal Navigator, Disney Cruise Line's daily newsletter. You'll receive it every evening in your stateroom, and it contains information for the following day.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any other questions.  Bon voyage Tara!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
