we are sailing on the Disney dream in April 2011 with 2 kids age 14 and 12. They both want to be together but my 12 year old is worried he will not be allowed to use the Vibe teen area. How should we register him?

    Ahoy, Stephanie!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the new Disney Dream -- the ship is beautiful, and you're entire crew is going to be delighted and amazed!

For your teen and tween, go ahead and register them where they should be by their birthdates -- your 14-year-old for Vibe and your 12-year-old for Edge. Then, when you're aboard on Embarkation Day, there will be a chance to visit both Youth Clubs at an Open House. Take the opportunity to visit with your children and talk to the counselors. You'll have a better idea of where each child will best fit in and how the counselors can best meet their individual needs and expectations. From personal experience, I have found that my children feel like they belong in the areas where they are one of the oldest instead of younger than everyone else. You know your child best, and the counselors will want to make sure that everyone involved is comfortable and confident.

I hope that helps guide you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
