Ahoy, Alison, and welcome to planDisney! The
Disney Destiny is a fantastic setting for a perfect birthday celebration. Let's chart a course for a magical and memorable vacation!
Alison, your 5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise currently has an optional dress-up night scheduled for Day 2 and
Pirate Night on Day 3. These schedules are subject to change, so you'll want to confirm them via the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once you're onboard and connected to Wi-Fi.
Dress-up night is a fun opportunity to wear something a little fancier, like a dress or a pantsuit. Many Guests like to take advantage of the onboard photo services when they're all dressed up.
I've seen a range of outfits for
Pirate Night. Many Guests go all out in full costumes. Others wear pirate-themed t-shirts, and some keep it simple by adding a bandana or pirate hat to their regular outfits. You can expect a special dinner menu, thrilling entertainment, fun activities, and (weather-permitting) fireworks! It's one of my favorite nights during a Disney cruise.
One more note about outfits: if you're dining at
Palo Steakhouse or
Enchanté, you'll want to wear formal or semi-formal attire, or dress-casual attire with a polished look.
If you haven't already, make sure to log into "My Reservations" on the
Disney Cruise Line website. It's under the "Already Booked" dropdown menu. Select "Special Request" and indicate that your party will be celebrating a birthday. This should be done at least three weeks before your cruise. That way, the Cast Members assisting you will know that there's a special occasion! Once you're on the ship, you can also visit Guest Services to ask for a complimentary birthday button.
Now, how about arranging for a special birthday surprise in the stateroom? You can
add onboard gifts to your reservation for an additional cost, like a cupcake (or a whole cake), a fruit platter, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and other items. There is also
in-room décor with a birthday theme, if you want to make it extra festive.
I've found some of the most memorable times on the ship have been with the various onboard activities. Dancing at the silent disco, getting competitive in trivia, being brave and singing at karaoke, trying our luck at bingo, kicking back in the
themed lounges – there are so many magical moments to share. I'm so excited for you.
Alison, I hope you have a wonderful time aboard the Disney Destiny. If you think of any other questions ahead of embarkation day, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
