Ahoy, Faith! Welcome aboard planDisney! I am excited to help you chart a course to an answer for this great question!
Just because you are sailing on the ocean, it definitely does not mean you want to get in that ocean, so checking out Port Adventures that do not focus on water activities is a smart move! When I visit a new place, I love getting out to explore it, so let’s get you headed toward some great options that keep your feet on dry land.
I have been to Nassau, Bahamas numerous times! There are a few things you can enjoy right off the ship, like wandering through the Straw Market or trying some delicious bites at waterfront restaurants. However, to make the most of your day, Disney offers several Port Adventures that take you off the beaten path so you can experience Nassau in a whole new way. You will find sightseeing tours with private drivers and vehicles, a
fort, pirate museum, and fish fry adventure, and even some tasty food-focused experiences.
I am not sure what your kiddos love or how active your family likes to be, but one option that works well for all ages is the
Family Ardastra Gardens and Wildlife Conservation Centre. It includes a tour of Nassau along with a visit to the Gardens and Wildlife Centre where you get up close with a variety of animals, including the Bahamas only authentic flamingo experience! Honestly, I am ready to book my next cruise just to see those flamingos!
Faith, there is a section on the
Disney Cruise Line website that has a fantastic way to explore every
Port Adventure available in Nassau. The search tool lets you filter by Port, Activity Level, Experience Level and more. Keep an eye on the minimum age listed for each experience so you know which ones will work for your littlest sailor.
I hope you have the most fantastic cruise!
The Disney Destiny is amazing, and I can't wait for you to experience the magic of this beautiful ship. If more questions pop up as you plan, cruise back by anytime. We are always here to help keep things sailing smoothly for you!
Bon Voyage!
