We are sailing on Destiny 11/2/26 to 11/7/26. When we return we are going to WDW, staying at the Boardwalk. What transportation options are there to get to Boardwalk from cruise terminal?

Ahoy, Edward! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your question about your upcoming land and sea vacation. Combining a Disney Cruise Line sailing with a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is always an excellent choice and feels like two completely different vacations in one.

At this time, Disney Cruise Line only offers ground transfers between Disney World and Port Canaveral near Orlando, not Port Everglades near Fort Lauderdale. Since you will be sailing on the 5-Night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale aboard the Disney Destiny on November 2-7, 2026, you will need to arrange your own transportation from Port Everglades to Disney World.

Since the port is just minutes away from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, you will find a variety of transportation options available in the area. But definitely keep in mind that the trip between Fort Lauderdale and Orlando is going to take approximately 3-4 hours with traffic, so rideshare or taxi options may not be the most economical choice. If you are comfortable driving, then a rental car may be your best option. Alternatively, some of my fellow planDisney panelists have recommended checking out the Brightline train that connects Orlando to Fort Lauderdale by high speed rail. You would need to get transportation from the port to the Brightline station in Fort Lauderdale and then the train will drop you off at the station at the Orlando International Airport, where you will find plenty of convenient options to get you to the Boardwalk.

Now that Disney Cruise Line is sending more cruises out of Port Everglades than ever before, a lot of cruisers are looking for easy transportation options from there to the parks. I wish I had an easier solution for you, but for now you will have to pick one of those transportation options. However, keep your eyes on the latest announcements from Disney Cruise Line because you never know what new offerings may be on the horizon.

I know that you will have an amazing time enjoying both the land and sea portions of your magical Disney vacation. If you have any more questions about Disney World or Disney Cruise Line, my friends and I are always here and ready to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
